Well, I guess I'll jump right into this...

Right now, I have 8GB (2x4GB) of 1333 Mhz RAM (CL=9) in my computer. I was thinking of upgrading (almost everything except for Hard drives and Disc drives) and started researching. It appears to me that 1600Mhz is kind of the 'sweet spot' right now. I found a few 16Gb kits on Newegg for a little over $100 at 1600 Mhz with a CL of 9.

Will these two sets of RAM be compatible? I've read that Motherboards are supposed to automatically over or under clock RAM to be compatible, but I'm not sure if all of them do that or just a few high end ones.

Should this one be able to do it?

Also, the RAM that I'm using right now looks a little cheap (It came with a prebuilt HP computer) and I'm not sure that it will overclock well. Thanks guys!

Solution
It won't work like that. You need to install identical rams. I think if you install those 1666 rams, it would downclock itself and match the slowest ram you have.

And the Motherboard that I chose should do that automatically?
