Hi guys.

Today I was playing around with my old PC and I decided to try to overclock the GTS 450 installed on it.

So I downloaded MSI Afterburner, and I set the Core Clock at 925 MHz, Shader Clock at 1850 MHz, and Memory Clock at 1950 MHz.
I have also set the fan speed to 100%.

I started up World of Tanks, got into a game, and got my mind blown at the 20fps increase.

After about 10 mins, I closed the game and went back to monitor the graphs on MSI Afterburner.

I noticed that while in game, the temperature of the GPU is between 78 and 89.

Is this normal for this graphic card?

So my temps on gpu were running about 80*C while playing world of warcraft, I took some advice and pulled the heatsink and reapplied thermal paste. After that I downloaded MSI afterburner to change settings like you did, and I ran Kombustor 3D test and it was running fine until about 5 minutes and the program shut down. Max temps now while playing world of warcraft and watching a movie on the other screen is 71* C even in raid. I did not see much improvement on fps, a few frames.

Yea I won't.

But I'm kinda shocked at this temperature, because I have an ultra high airflow inside my case.

Thank you.

Nop I purchased it myself, but I've had it for almost 2 years.

Yeah, I did that before starting the overclocking process.

I have the same graphics card and am going to do the repaste tonight, what type of case is it in? I am using the CM Stacker 830 case for cooling and will test with your settings you posted with afterburner and let you know my temps tonight. I wanted to ask is this afterburner safe for over clocking?
