hi guys, so i finally ordered my pc and assembled etc... now im trying to install windows 7 onto it but for some reason im having great difficulty. heres a link to my build
http://pcpartpicker.com/user/tomwalkeer/saved/1uGw

i dont have a cd drive because it hasnt arrived yet, i have assembled everything else though. I dont know if i need to add any drivers or something... i did the internet update for the mobo though so that should help.

Im trying to install windows 7 via a usb3 stick but whenever i plug it into the computer and try to boot from it, it just says the bootmgr is missing. :(
ive followed several different guides on how to create a bootable flash drive and the iso is straight from microsoft so i don't know what the problem is.

Am i missing some obvious step in building your first pc? How can i check to make sure all of my parts are working and make sure its the usb causing the problem and not the ram or something

also what settings should i have in my uefi for the best chance at this?

Thanks,
tom

just tried that, bootcamp failed and gave me an error "an error occurred while copying the windows installation files"

i also just used my parallels software trial (which i installed windows onto through the exact same iso im trying to put onto the drive) to try and create the bootable drive using the windws7 usb/dvd download tool, it says it copied the files but couldn't use the bootsec to make the flash drive bootable...

okay, so i downloaded a copy of windows 8 and loaded it onto an MBR 1 partition MS-Dos (FAT) flash drive, booted it up through the boot selector (chose the uefi version, it was listed once as usb and once as uefi) and i was able to instal windows 8 no problem...But i dont want windows 8 :(

now when i tried the exact same steps with the windows 7 iso (formatted it fresh, copied the contents of the win7 iso into the drive and plugged it into the same usb port), i click the uefi version and the screen goes black and then it brings me straight back to the boot selector again... when i click the usb it says reboot and select proper boot device?

im so lost now
