Hello. I am new to the forums and I am planning to make a eGPU (similar to a ViDock). I don't know if there is a PCI-express on my laptop. HELP! I have a HP DV7-6b77dx.

I see that my wireless card uses PCIe. Could I use that?

Does your laptop has an expresscard slot on the left? If it has then you can use an external VGA solution, since most, if not all eGPU setups use that expresscard slot as the main bridge like the PCI express slot on a desktop.

I haven't opened up my laptop yet. Is it more expensive to make an eGPU or a desktop instead. I just bought this laptop and I want to use it for awhile before I upgrade.

This model, according to HP, doesn't have an expresscard slot, so I don't think you'll be able to make a proper eGPU with it.

"proper" eGPU. Like there is something in there that won't function correctly. So what about the wifi card? What does that use. But I'm leaning more into a desktop now.

Just stick to desktop. There's a chance that you'll be able to mod the wifi module's pci-e slot into an expresscard slot, but it will definetly void your warranty.
