ASUS M5A97 Motherboard SLI Support

Hello, I've been looking around on the web for a clear answer and cannot seem to get a direct answer. I am looking to build me a gaming computer and am looking at this package from newegg:

I like the fact that it has the 660 gpu in it and the fact that it is under budget after tax (850 budget).

My main concern is this, the motherboard says it can "support SLI", which I know it can, but it doesn't have two 16 pci slots. How will this alter the performance if I ever run SLI on this machine?

Also, this is my first time building a computer, if anyone out there can find me a better gaming rig for under $850 (8% sales tax), that would be great! Thanks!

That board doesn't support SLI, not even CrossfireX in a proper way. Worth telling Newegg that they advertised this wrong. You can find the board's info here: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M5A97_LE_R20/#specifications

By "$850 (8% sales tax)", you meant a system that cost 850*(1-0.08) = 782 $ before taxes apply, right?

I think this setup should do. You'll have to order parts from different stores and assemble them yourself, thou. Just google videos about how to assemble them if you run into troubles. As for gaming performance: much better than Newegg's system, plus get you some games for free:
