Hi everyone,

I am planning on building my own gaming pc.I have been spending a lot of time looking for parts that will work. I have chosen a Intel i5 3570k 3rd gen processor and a Gigabyte NVIDIA GEforce GTX 650 Ti 2gb GPU with PCIe 3.0. I haven't been able to find a compatible motherboard with these things. I also want to have USB 3.0, 5.1 surround, enough SATA 6GB ports (about 3) for hard drives and DVD drives and it to be a reasonable price.

Also, if you have suggestions for other hardware I would appreciate it

Thx,

Uuhhhh...?

I have found a ASRock Z77 Extreme6 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard and it looks good. I have changed my graphics card to the Asus GeForce GTX 770 2GB Video Card. I spent hours choosing things on pcpartpicker and have basically what I want. It says there is no incompatibilities but I think there might need to be more ventilation. The link to my list is http://pcpartpicker.com/user/TechnoGuy4122/saved/1Ree.

Thx,

The 3570K and Z77 are last gen products. Intel just came out with the 4th gen haswell processors and Z87 chipset

You are looking at 1155 socket motherboards. They are no longer the latest, as intel has release socket 1150 socket cpus now. The 1155 type you are looking at will of course be a great system, but if you are building a new one, it's usually recommended to build around the latest sockets.

Yeah, my friend said the same thing. I didn't actually know about the Hazwell line untill just recently. I will look for similar processors and motherboards. As what I am thinking about currently is a tad over-budget, will this push it up higher?

I'm getting closer to the perfect price/value combination. I spent 6 hours researching earlier and that created me to "my first draft". Now to upgrade to the 1150 socket CPU's.

Thanks for explaining,
