Dear respected community of Tom's Hardware,

I'm upgrading my system by purchasing a new GPU and PSU.
My problem is I'm worried the new GPU (HD 7950) won't fit, since I read on a thread someone was having "tight fit" problems with a smaller NVidia card on the same system as mine, the problem seems to come from the position of the MoBo and I/O.

Current system:
System: Dell Studio XPS 435MT
MoBo:0R849J
Intel X58 Rev 12
Intel 82801JR (ICH10R) Rev 00
CPU: Intel i7 920

New upgrade parts I'm about to purchase;
GPU: Asus Radeon HD 7950 Direct CU II (I read this was the beefiest model in terms of size)
PSU:OCZ 650W (non modular version)

Questions;
a· Will it fit?
b· What exactly does tripple slot card mean, referring to the 7950 I'm LTB.
c· Any educated commentary on my upgrade that you can add is also very much appreciated.

Here is the thread where someone was talking about the "tight fit" nature of discrete GPUs on his (my) Motherboard, in case you were looking for a photo and point of context.

Thank you for taking your time to read this, I hope I get an answer sometime soon, as I'm buying the card from E-Bay.

*edit*: Here is some extra info on my motherboard, which I think will help

A.) It might fit. Make sure the inside has a length of at least 12-13 inches.

B.) Triple Slot basically mean the GPU will use up to 3 Slots which you can see at the back of your case there is 4 so it will fit.

C.) If you can spare an extra $80-90 for a Corsair 300R Case and a 212 EVO CPU Cooler, you will have an awesome build. You need to overclock the CPU so that it won't bottleneck the system as you're getting a new awesome GPU. And also for the price, I would like you to consider GTX 760, it's cheaper and has better performance than 7950 and also NVIDIA tends to have better drivers than AMD. And In my opinion, Intel CPU is best paired with a NVIDIA Card.
