Should I keep my Nvidia and return AMD?

I presently have Nvidia Geforce 9400GT 512MB GPU, all is working great. I have on order from newegg a new Gigabyte Radeon HD 7750 1GB card, but after reading previous threads here on tom's hardware about AMDs Catalyst Control Center driver problems, I am thinking of sending that Radeon card back when I get it and not install CCC on my Windows 7 64-bit computer. I'd rather keep my good working Nvidia than have problems with AMDs CCC. Is that a good move on my part?

just get the radeon. its like superior performance boost over what you got already. AMD usually slacking with its drivers and updates but you can always find a working driver eventually. It should work and operate as usual. No need to be scared. I currently use 13.6 beta drivers on my 7870xt and its flawless.
Good luck.

The only real issues with AMD drivers are typically in Crossfire. I can't recall having any issues with AMD drivers when using a single card since whenever the 4670 was still a relevant card back in 2008/2009 running Catalyst 8.

On my work system which has a 7750, I am running the newest 13.6 beta driver and have had no issues. I am also running the 13.6 beta drivers on my home systems which have a 7770 and a 7870XT. All of them running well and without issues.

ok good, so when I get my HD 7750, how do I get the newest 13.6 beta driver set? Will it be on the install disc that comes in the box? Or do I need go search for it on AMDs web site, I am not familiar with drivers, this is all new to me. I had the computer shop install my Windows 7.

no it wont be available in the disc. probably not even the latest version would be available in the disc lol.
just enter the amd site go to drivers. you'll see beta version just below the latest 13.4 version. I believe you'll be fine :)

ok, I went to AMD web site and did the driver search an found this below where it says:
Please note that the Catalyst Control Center component of the AMD Catalyst 13.6 Beta requires .NET 4.0 support for Windows 7 users

I am a Windows 7 user, how do I find out if I have .NET 4.0?

Start>Control Panel>Programs>Programs and Features you should see an entry for .net 4 in the listing, if not you'll have to go over to Microsoft and download it from there.
Try not to use Beta drivers, go for the latest WHQL signed software instead.
When switching from one chipmaker to another it is VITAL to fully uninstall ALL the previous drivers and software:
Download and install Driversweeper or Drivercleaner.
Download the latest WHQL driver/CCC package from the AMD site, select 'save' from the options box it'll then download and save to your downloads folder in My Documents.
Uninstall the software.
Restart into Safe Mode.
Run the sweeper software and check everything it is going to delete, deselect anything you are unsure of before deleting.
Restart normally.
Install the drivers/CCC-use the 'automatic' option.
Restart.
Done.
