Hi Everybody,

I wish to OC my FX 4100. I still use the stock cooler as i have not bothered OC'ing it before. I have been looking at upgrading the cooler as i understand the stock one will not be good enough for OC

My question is can anybody recommend a good cooler that will not obstruct any of my Memory Modules?

FX 4100 Black ed
Radeon HD 7770 1gb Sapphire ed
4gb 1333 Ram
450w PSU

Nearly all reviews i have read indicate that the cooler can cover one of them, which for me is not an option as i plan on adding more ram in the future. Would any of these be ok on my Mobo:

Also, i have never OC'd before so would be interesting to hear your thoughts and whether it would give me a good real world performance increase.

Would it also be worth OC'ing my 7770?

Thanks guys.

Solution
Your board has a pretty bad power design, making it insufficient for overclocking. Overclocking with that board can burn both the board and your CPU. Better keep the board that way and OC your HD7770 instead.

Well, i was looking at upgrading the CPU, after looking at what was available i decided to OC instead. So would you say buy a new Mobo and OC or just upgrade CPU?

Thanks for your help, could you recommend any? Preferably under £100.
