I am experienced in building and upgrading my gaming rig but this will be my 1st time building a PC for professional purposes, so here I am asking for some help/advice.

The rig will be used in architecture related work. Some of the software that will be used are:

1. Architecture

  • AutoCAD
    Google SketchUp (w/ VRay)
    3ds Max (w/ VRay)

2. Design

  • Adobe Photoshop
    Adobe Illustrator
    Adobe After Effects

3. Essentials

  • Adobe Reader
    Microsoft Office

I would love some feedback with the choices I have made so far. Any suggestion on how to cut down cost without cutting too much performance.

I also need suggestions for the Motherboard and the CPU Cooler to be used. One that will not be overkill but will be efficient.

CPU: Intel Core i7-3770
MOBO: TBA (Budget - $120)
COOLING: TBA (No specific budget)
HDD: 1TB Seagate Barracuda
RAM: RipJaws 16GB 1600
GPU: Nvidia Quadro K600
PSU: CoolerMaster Silent Pro M850
ODD: Lite-On 24x IHAS-524
CASING: CoolerMaster K350
MONITOR: Acer S230HL
KEYBOARD & MOUSE: Logitech MK320

1) Why not Haswell? Its 10% faster than 3770K.
2) PSU is too big as Blackbird pointed out.

How about this?

This is just a suggestive build while keeping your designing / rendering needs in mind for $1000 budget.
