hi
i recently purchased a dell laptop with win 8...i have an internet connection via ethernet by
my local cable operator which i use in my desktop..the problem is when i connect the ethernet port to my laptop it shows no internet access
and the orange light which flickered on the cable while connected to desktop is also gone
i have tried both methods of automatic generation of ip as well as configuring it manually to exactly the same ip
and dns which was in the desktop.. but to no avail ( internet is working fine on my desk top) also there is no modem or router... just the wire directly
plz help!!!
