all around the internet all is see is people bashing this device. im not here to defend it by any means, but what is so wrong with it? i mean at a glance it does everything that fancy Galaxy S4/S3/Note(2) or HTC One or any other overpriced phone or tablet does, but a substantially cheaper price point (most high end android devices run for like 400 and up). i just now got to where i even considered buying a smartphone, and it was a prepaid tmobile Galaxy s II. it plays android games, but it just doesnt feel right. the only game i like playing on it is Final Fantasy III.
and at the moment its priced 300 dollars so it sits up their at full console prices. he thing looks cool, and with stuff like the ouya, mad catz console, and the gamestick, there could be more support for this kind of device on the way.
the feature that intrigues me tho is the pc streaming. the kainy app (which seeing as this is a android device, will work on the shield... hopefully) does this on all android devices that are powerful enough (which my sII is not... it was a laggy nightmare), but the thought of a feature dedicated to this built and backed by nvidia, that really intrests me. with the resources they have they could make the device so much better at streaming as time goes on. i personally would love to sit back and relax while playing pc games instead of being hunched over my keyboard all the time, but thats just me. we have a ps3, xbox 360 and my gaming pc(s) at my house. i have a PS VIta and a 3ds, so naturally i just feel like this is a no brainer, but i still dont feel as if i could fully justify dropping 300 for this device. im just afraid it could be like my vita purchase all over again, but it would have a much larger library of games available to it day one then the vita did.'
what are your thoughts on this device?
