Please help, Computer crashes when playing games

My specs,
fx-6300
cooler master 212 evo
asrock 970 extreme 3
gskill ripjaws 2x4gb
radeon hd 6670
WD 1tb hd
corsair cx600
cooler master HAF 912
windows 7 home
(as you can tell i was on a low budget)

ok so i just built this pc a couple days ago and whenever i try playing any game it crashes after 5-10 mins. I have no idea what to do, I ran memtest and my ram looks fine, I ran prime and no crashes. im thinking its either a heat or power supply issue but i dont know how to test it.

any help is appreciated, this is very frustrating.

is the system overclocked, if so, then run it at stock and see if it still happens.

How long did you run memtest and prime for? memtest should be run for 4-5 passes and that takes hours. Prime should be run on small fft's to ensure that only your cpu is getting stressed along with the cpu cache, and run it for a few hours. I run for about 6-8 hours, which after that, you know it's pretty stable.

Also seeing as it's games causing problems, maybe do a re-install of all related drivers (GFX), and make sure everything else is up to date.

edit: also when stress testing components, always keep an eye on temps. I use coretemp for CPU etc.

No i did not overclock anything, i only ran memtest for one pass ( ill run it for 5 passes after this ) i ran prime for 5 hours cpu temp reached 38C. ill re-install drivers after i run memtest and prime again.

okay, well you've done mostly the right things. Lets rule out CPU stability and run Prime, and then we can figure out next step. Download MSI afterburner, to monitor your GFX, and when playing a game alt-tab out of it, and bring up the console for MSI and see if there is anything funny going on with GPU like overheating, fan speed, vram usage. It could be one of those too.

ok well, this time running memtest it crashed, it was at 15% for about a hour. Ram issue??

could be. to be 100% sure, make sure the ram is set to run at it's recommended specs, timings wise. run it again. Memtest is sensitive and if the timings aren't manually set in bios, can lead to a quick fail. Once the timings are set and you've run it again, it fails this time, then it's the ram. Then you test the modules one by one, till you find the culprit and replace it.

ram is recomended to run 1600mhz at 1.5v but will not boot at these settings, i have to underclock it to 1333mhz could that be causing the issue??
Ran prime for 7 hours, temps reached 42C, no crashes

well i pretty much narrowed it down to a ram issue..
I went to turn on my pc and three long beeps came from the mobo speaker. would not boot so i replaced the ram with 1x4gb from my old pc and everything seems to be working fine, for now
