gts 450 temp problem

I am using 2 gts 450 sli. I have noticed that one of the cards runs at 70C while the other at 40C under 30%load. Is that normal? I have tried changing the arrangement of the cards on the motherboard but nothing changes..

When you say nothing changes, does that mean that the card that is 70c is always 70c, no matter where it is placed, or that no matter which card is in one particular slot, that one is always 70c?

i mean that one card regardless of its position is always 20 to 30C hotter than the other.

So the problem is probably card related - I'd first check reported fan-speeds to make sure they are the same for both cards as they warm up - (so are they both at 1800rpm at 40c for example), then the physical stuff - is the card dirty / obstructed in some way, has the heatsink moved slightly off where it should be etc. A good clean and a re-application of thermal paste is usually a good place to start.

For this particular card msi afterburner shows that the fun speed is 48% under 30 percent load at 70C. The fan tachometer repords 0rpm
