I am looking for an opinion on the Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB Video Card.
1) Is it future proof for about 3 years on high-med.
2) Is there another card, AMD or NVIDIA, that is priced the same but performs better.
Yeah i am new to the whole PC gaming. Here is what i want to build just for reference. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1b534

My budget is 900 total. I went with the APU A-10 because it has a built in graphics cards so i thought i could have the 7870 run in tandem with the apu for better performance.

Slightly over, but you'll get much more out of this. You also used an APU and while it IS

a CPU, it's a CPU with a GPU on it. Thus you wouldn't need a discrete GPU. Rectified the RAM;

you won't be needing 2133 most likely. Especially not if your budget is around 800$. Got you

out of Micro ATX motherboard and got you a normal sized one. Added a different case and

added the currently best GPU for the money.

Now for your questions:

1) 3 years is too long. 1-2 is more realistic. That is, if you meant buying new demanding games and still

playing on high-medium. For reference, current cards can barely max Crysis 3.

2) The GPU I put in is much better. Perhaps you could look into GTX 650 Ti Boosts in SLI or GTX 660.

Welcome to PC gaming. You've got to work a little for your setup, but you'll be much happier once you're done.

As far as future proofing you can never tell what will happen in the next couple years.

Will this I5 be able to be cool? I noticed you did not include an after market cooler. Also how is the cable management on the case and how are the fans on it?

I see that you are a graphics card master. So a question. Is there a comparable card to the GTX 760 you recommended. You see i want "free" games that come with say a 7000 series card

Performance wise it falls between the 7950 and 7970.
HD 7950<GTX 760<HD 7970
the 7950 costs ~$300 and the 7970 is ~$350-400

You only need an aftermarket cooler if you're OC'ing or the stock one doesn't do it for you, for whatever reason.

I think it's a decent case, if you want a blend of features and looks, for a cheap price. The other case was way more.

In fact the other one was so expensive, I'm sure you could find a Full Tower case for that money. Didn't

go for it, as I don't know your maximum budget.
