im a first time builder and i just put my build together last night and i cant get it post.

I have a Sabertooth 990FX R2.0,
AMD Sapphire Radeon 7950,
and 8GB Corsair Vengence RAM (2X4GB)
OOPS: i have an AMD 8350

the red CPU led light doesnt go off. ive tried everything seperately making sure its not bad RAM or some another connection keeping it from working.
what i have discovered is that the computer will only stay on (still no post) if i have the pin in "clear RTC" mode. and it turns off after ~3 seconds if its set on "normal".

originally not being able to turn it on was the problem but i didn't know what clear RTC meant then.

since then i have used a flashdrive and have used flashback bios which only works in "normal" mode. so i can install the bios but then to get the computer to keep running i have to clear it because i have to switch to "clear RTC" mode.

since this is my first time i don't really know what else to try.

+1 and then some, most any mobo you buy these days has an out of date BIOS, and those BIOS updates ar generally full of DRAM updates among other things

try with a single stick and see if you can get into BIOS, if so post up your DRAM timings and system voltages...also if the BIOS update went through, might pull DRAM and do a CMOS reset
