backing up sd card

I want to add kids doodles to my phone it is a samsung galaxy y duos. but it tells me for storage modify or delete sd card contents. How to backup before it erases something I want on my card

Plug in your phone with a usb cable to the computer. It will show up in "my computer" as a storage drive. Open it---select the contents you want to backup---copy them---create a "new folder" on desktop---paste the contents inside the folder. Now you can erase the sd card safely that you have the backups.
