AGP cards are 8 years old now. They are no longer continued. You will need to upgrade your motherboard and processor first to something more modern before you can install a gpu like the geforce 8800 which is also discontinued.

I love that gif

But seriously, like Haider said, buying an AGP card is useless, because they're so weak compared to modern standards, but they can be ridiculously expensive for what they "offer".

You're better off building a completely new PC in my opinion, although I can see how that could be too expensive to consider at this moment in time.

Thanks. I have this Geforce GT 220 now. It seems to be PCI-E, is that right?

Would these computers:

hp desktop 3ghz intel pentium IV cpu 1 gig ram

Sony vaio desktop
3.2 ghz with hyperthreading
1gb ddr pc3200-400mhz ram

likely be compatible?

That PC seems to be ancient. Probably overpriced too. You should be getting at least a core 2 duo 2.4ghz and 2gb ram to be playing anything!

Ok, heres something that meets those requirements:

DESKTOP PC - DUAL CORE 3.0GHZ processor, 2GB Ram

The ad says it comes with no HDD. Would I be able to stick the HDD of another computer in it? (AMD 64-3200 @2ghz
1.25 ram-ddr pc3200-400mhz )

At what price are you buying that PC? Also ask the seller what Dual core it is. If it's a pentium D then STAY AWAY and yes you should be unless the HDD's an IDE drive and your new motherboard only supports SATA in which case you'll need a SATA HDD
