I am building a custom desktop for audio recording. I want to have at least a 3rd generation intel i7 quad core cpu. The problem is I do not know what type of mobo to buy. I want to have a max of 32 gb ram. The programs I will be using min requirement is an intel core duo and 8gb ram. I will install a 128 ssd to run programs and boot computer. Maybe two 1tb or 2tb 7200 hhd's for everything else. I might watch a blu ray sometime but No gaming at all.My total budget for this is $600-$800. I just need something that has enough power and reliability to last for a few years or more.

Total budget for what ......MoBo / CPU combo or entire box ?

Blue Ray = $55

Two 2 TB HDs = $320

128 GB SSD = $135

32 GB RAM = $250

You spent $760 so if $800 is entire box, you outta cash

If we talking MoBo and CPU only ......Nothin tops this current combo w/ $110 off

$450 ASUS Z87-PRO w/ 4770k

I'd suggest the ASRock, Z77 Extreme 4, and pair it with a 3570K, for what you'll be doing (sounds like primarily anyway) 16GB would prob be enough, but if it fits in the budget at the end could go 32GB....For 16 or 32 would suggest 2133/CL9 DRAM, Something like the GSkill Tridents or Ripjaws X I'm running the Tridents (the 2400 32GB set) in my Rock Extreme 4 and have the 2133/9 32GB set in my P67....The Rock mobo handles everything I throw at it, which is a lot, use this rig to troubleshoot components on client builds as well as just testing new stuff

I forgot to mention that I am not trying to put 32GB in right away. I want the ability to add that later as the programs I will be using can hog a CPU and Ram if there isn't enough power. I want to have 16Gb ram out the box to get started.

I'm talking entire box. I won't be doing the full 32Gb ram out the gate I want to have the ability to add that later. Also I will only be adding one 7200 hdd starting out. I apologize for the misunderstanding, I need so coffee to wake me up smh. I would like to also have a case with side panel window with LED lighting.

Haha lol @ large pink and yellow. I'm ordering it today. I hope it can hold the new 4th generation intel i7 4770k. I just need to figure out which mobo will work with the CPU now. What kind of GPU card would you recommend? I think I'm going to run two 23" monitors and Hook my 1080p 42" flat screen TV up to it HDMI to watch a blu ray from time to time.

I am still trying to figure out what mobo I should go for with the intel i7 4770k haswell. Anymore suggestions? I got my case in the mail today and it looks really nice. The only problem is that the back of it was smashed in during shipping I guess, so it is going back for a replacement. Does it matter if the case says that it supports USB 3.0? The case I got http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146025 does not say anything about USB 3.0.

No it does not say anything about USB 3 headers on the computer case box. Basically I just need to know if I can still use a mobo that has USB 3.0 with this case being that it only has USB 2.0 on the front. I really do not care about those 2.0 ports on front of the case. I just want to be sure I can use a mobo that supports USB 3.0. using the back of the case I/O section.
