removal of file from SSD does not reflect gain of space

I have an SSD 447 GB I am trying to gain space since this drive is now down to 55.5GB.
I have removed a file the size was 15.5GB.
I do not see any gain in space the drive still shows 55.5GB.
How long will it take to show the gain of space to show up or will the removal of this file never show the gain of space in my SSD

Not sure if it's the same situation as mine, but the longest I've ever seen it take to show up is the next day after a reboot. May be a time thing, or a reboot thing.

P.S. I have a Samsung 840 pro

The file doesn't go anywhere after ya delete it, just gets removed from the MBR.
