VaultRelapse :
I was wondering what components i would need to focus on when building an awesome gaming desktop. I am newer to the Pc world. I wanted a desktop that could run Crysis series, Guild wars 2,.etc. Games like this. I dont need high def quality but good enough to enjoy the scenery and run the game. If so what would be the price range also. Thanks.
The four core components to a gaming PC are the CPU (particularly for crysis and online MMO's) GPU (especially for crysis) the RAM, around 8gb of 1600 mhs cas 9 is standard for gaming, and the PSU, while it's technically unimportant, you dont want your sweet stuff pc parts getting fried by a bad quality or underpowered PSU.
Hard drives are vaguely important so far as you want a 7200 rpm drive really (average) but lower speeds are available (but not good for gaming). And motherboards are the least important part, as long as it fits all pieces necessary. The money spent on motherboards often determines your uprade path and lifespan.
In all fairness you can construct a decent gaming PC for between $600 and $1500, taking you from medium settings to max on a sliding scale with the budget.
