Built my first computer in 2009 with the following:

Intel Core i7-860 Lynnfield 2.8GHz LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Processor BX80605I7860
1 x Intel BOXDP55KG LGA 1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel Motherboard
SILVERSTONE ST75F-P 750W ATX 12V v2.3 / EPS 12V 80 PLUS SILVER Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply
Kingston HyperX 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 Desktop Memory Model KHX1333C7D3K3/6GX
ATI Radeon™ HD 5870

I'm thinking about replacing my hd5870 with a GEFORCE GTX 770. I'm not sure if I should be concerned about any other component. And I'm not sure how much of a difference I will notice with games like BF3, SC2, DOTA, etc. Any recommendations?

I think there will be a slight bottleneck on the cpu...

5870 is about 50% of a 680 (my old card was a 5870) so i expect you to have almost the double in every games unless you're CPU limited (i doubt than your I7 will bottleneck you but i don't know if the 1st gen is a lot slower than 3th gen I7)

here you can compare video cards on paper: http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php?card1=667&card2=613#
(i selected the 680 and the 5870 for you (they don't have the 770 yet but OC the 680 to 770 reference and see)

The 770 is very better to play in high resolution and at high detail because it has faster memory (and more, 2gb vs 1gb), it's also faster at texture processing...

I think there will be a slight bottleneck on the cpu side......overclocking the i7 860 to around 3.5-4 ghz will solve the problem...
