I recently purchased an AMD FX-8350 processor moving up from my previous AMD FX-4130 processor. The version of the BIOS for my motherboard (the Asus M5A97 LE R2.0) was on v. 0906, and I hadn't updated it because I didn't feel any need to.
When I installed the new chip, I needed to upgrade my BIOS to support the Piledriver CPU's, which wasn't a big deal. I installed it and now everything is going alright, except for one little annoyance I'm experiencing.
My previous BIOS version did not beep upon starting, but the new one beeps 1 short, indicating a successful boot. That's all good and well, but I'd rather my motherboard to beep only when there's a real problem. Is there a way to turn off the beeping (for 1 short, of course)?
