My computer video card died yesterday so I need to get a replacement and I decided to upgrade it a bit if I could, I was reading the power vs price comparisons on the main page but not sure which I could go for because my computer is old (not sure on compatibility) and I also wasn't sure which to choose between nvidia or amd (not sure if any of the games I play has a preference for one of those companies or if its kinda the same). Here are my current specs:
Current GPU: EVGA GeForce 8600 GTS (512MB)
Power Supply: Silencer 610W EPS12V
CPU: Intel® Core 2 Duo Processor E7200 2.53 GHz
Motherboard: ASUS P5k Pro
Memory: 4GB G.Skill DDR2-800
Budget: maximum $100
I mainly want it for mmorpg games (Aion, Tera, Rift, etc) and 720p(1080p if possible but not as important) movies, not really going to play very power hungry/current generation games (unless those 3 count as current gen).
