SSD Storage: Would This Make Sense?

I love video games. However, the PC my family uses, although well optimized for the pixelated games of the past, is not a great rig for the games of this generation. My plan is to, at some point in the future, build my own gaming rig and remove all my games and optimization programs from the family PC, and leave it for their own daily needs. I have a plan to do this, but since I'm not entirely computer savvy yet, I need opinions on whether my plan would make sense:

My plan is to get an internal or external SSD, transfer all MY games and programs to it, use the SSD to run my stuff while I continue to use the family computer, then move the SSD to my own rig at some point in the future.

Does this make sense? Will it work? Is there a better way to accomplish my goals? would an HHD be preferable? Any opinions are appreciated.

There isn't much point in doing that. Putting your games on an SSD now isn't going to run them any faster. And SSD prices should continue to go down over time. So my vote would be to keep saving, and buy/build your computer when you can.
No it won't work.....ya old puter has drivers for that hardware....wont match up with new hardware which needs different drivers.

1. Install Windows to your new PC on a 128 GB partition on ya HD or a SSD (C:\ drive) .
2. Copy all ya stuff from old puter to D:\ on ya new HD
3. Install programs and games a snecessary over themselves to set registry entries on new OS.
