I really need help! I have no sound whatsoever. I tried updating, reinstalling, and even changing from HD audio to AC'97, nothing is working. I am not getting sound at all, all I get is a whistling noise from the speakers and headphones. Both front panel (case) and back panel (mobo) aren't working. They are live because when I disable the device the sound goes away. I have windows 8 as my operating system. PLEASE HELP I AM BEGGING YOU!

Solution
the digital audio will be for hdmi or optical. Sound will be playing through them but obviously wont hear from them unless hdmi or optical are used to tv/av receiver or something that would take those connections.

Analog (green plug) is the high definition speaker device.

What Tradesman1 says and what speaker set and connection are you using?

If using the analog speaker jacks the color code is

Green: fronts, main speakers.
Black: Rears
Yellow: Sub/Center

If using Analog speakers using the audio jacks set it to default in Audio playback devices, it should be labeled as speakers.

I am using the Green on the back and I did reset the CMOS, still no luck. Even the HD audio or AC'97 for the front speakers aren't working. Nothing at all is working. I even uninstalled the asus drivers and went straight to Realtek for theirs, no luck at all :(.

I have two digital audio devices, they seem to always be on and the green bar move on them, but no sound. The "Speakers" aren't on no matter there being a wire connected. The only time it turns on is when I change the setting in Realtek suite to AC'97. They still don't work.
