To start off, yes, I have a 64 bit system.

I used Speccy to get my system info

Hardware:

-4x Patriot Memory PC3-8500F (533 MHz) 1333EL Series RAM
-Asus Crosshair Formula V SB910/950
-FX 8350 8 core processor
-750 watt ps

I checked in the BIOS under the northbridge and I saw that DIMM 0-3 are all mounted. At least I was getting a reading on all of them.

I'm not very knowledgeable in computers, specifically dealing with voltages and overclocking and everything. This is my first build.

Please help!

Update:

I just noticed that in Speccy, I saw that the slot 2 RAM card didn't say what is pictured above like what slot 3 and 4 says. It says this instead:

Some things I would try -

1. Reinstall Windows ( Mostly does not help , so should try if nothing mentioned below works )
2. Set the settings ( Frequency , CAS , etc ) manually in the BIOS to which the RAM is specified ( should not be
3. Try different RAM slots and different sticks at different slots.
4. Are all the RAMs the same ? If not , try sticks individually at stock settings only.

Oh wait , Virtual mem , Interesting , looks like something is making that memory virtual usage ( awkward )

I tried the manual pulling each one out and testing them and turns out my computer won't boot with 2 of the 4 installed when by themselves. I pulled both out and left the 2 that didn't give me any hassle. Windows tells me that there's 8 gigs of RAM. Used the resource monitor and this is what it reads now

I guess the problem were those 2 ram sticks. Gotta go buy some more! Thank you, everyone that contributed to this cause that was overly simple! I appreciate the speedy responses!

No problems. Great to hear that your problem is over. You might want to RMA those faulty sticks. Also if you can't or don't want to , try getting the same sticks. Also , a problem is a problem , it has to be solved even if the solution is simple. Oh and BTW you were much informative , if you have any trouble ahead , give as much as info as you can , it helps other to realise the issue quicker.
