Will speedfan work with an MSI G41M P33 motherboard? Must I disable BIOS settings?

I have win 8 pro and have a very noisy cpu fan. I don't see this motherboard listed as supported by speedfan & this is my first time with this type of issue.

Can anyone tell me what I need to do to control the fan speed? I tried BIOS settings but they don't seem to affect fan speed (despite the options appearing in BIOS).

Is anyone experienced with this issue?

I dont see the mb listed on speedfan's site but the chipset seems to be supported according to his history of updates. It did seem to affect my fan speed but I'm nervous because I dont' know how to set up the advanced features. Gonna try and leave it alone for now until someone can help me with this. Anyone who can elaborate on fan control methods for this mb?
