Need Help Putting Together a Gaming Build?

I am going to build my 1st gaming computer and I have $500 to go on it not including the OS/monitor/keyboard/mouse. I am wanting this to play just about everything that's out. Also I do not play FPS games that much other than metro, far cry, and bioshock. Thanks for the help!
