The gtx 650ti boost is almost 15% faster and consumes much less power than the 560ti.....So get the 650ti boost

When it comes to important components like the gpu I personally would never suggest you to buy second hand items. It is always better to play safe and get a new one then regret later on.

I agree I can vouch for the HD 7850 as I have one so if your budget is $160 you can afford it.

With a i5 3470 paired with a HD 7850 that's a great pairing (better than my current Athlon x4) so you should see hardly any bottle necks at all and get all the power out of the 7850.

I play COD on ultra settings all round and breeze through it even with AA on x8.

On Heaven benchmark I can confirm the 7850 get's 66 fps on Ultra, 75 fps on High at stock.

If you opt for the 7850 get the Over clock version, you can clock passed a stock 7870, my Heaven bench for OC was 84.7 fps.

I have a 600w modular Corsair, you need a minimum of 500w PSU for a 7850 but I like to have 100w head room on my system, my Corsair has been flawless and the modular 600m version really helps with cable management.

The 7850 and the 650ti boost are almost equal.....It comes down to the amount of vram and the pricing

Here is the comparison .....

http://www.hwcompare.com/13632/geforce-gtx-650-ti-vs-radeon-hd-7850/

It's a close call and both can OC but for my money the 7850 pips it in two out of 3 areas on that chart which would make it my option but as I said not much in it.

Over clocking is easy I downloaded MSI AfterBurner and you just slide up the Core Clock, I'd leave the Memory Clock at stock though but that's something to look and read up about once you have it.

To be safe I stuck to matching a stock 7870 specs, I have gone higher and a lot of enthusiasts do but there's really no need, I hardly use my OC setting, don't need it for COD that's for sure.

You'll need t attach one 6 point power cable but they come with PSU's anyway, mine did.

Well then go with the 650ti boost without any hesitation....trust me you wont be disappointed..

But be careful that it is not a 1gb Card ...get atleast 2gb vram

If you are gaming at 1080p then surely you do need 2 gb. Most modern games like Crysis 3, Skyrim, Far Cry 3 etc gobble up more than 1 gb at that resolution.

Not really but if your playing on a big 1080p resolution screen it is something to consider if you have the budget.

Only certain games are VRAM hogs, most don't affect it at all.

what screen are you playing on?

What resolution is it?

And for a 19" ..... no!

I have a full size 32" 720p LED and mines 1GB, a 2 GB 7850 is ideal but I don't need it unless I had a big 1080p Monitor or TV.

What is the resolution???...If it is 768p or 900p then 1 gb is good enough. If it is 1080p then you are better off with 2 gb

Pretty much yeah.

the resolution of your monitor..... go into your control panel on your PC, go to Appearance and Personalization, Display, adjust screen resolutions.

(this is the path on my Windows 7, yours may differ slightly if Win 8)

That will tell you your resolution, then tell us what it is.

If you use 1 gb ram on a 1080p display you may fall short on vram in some games so it is better to go with 2 gb .
