I have an older hp laptop I haven't used in a while. I wanted to check through some old e-mails for some information, so I plugged it in to charge it up - there is a blue light coming from where the power cord is plugged in so I know there is power going to it, but the battery charging/power light is not on and after leaving it plugged in overnight the laptop still will not turn on.
I have two power cords and tried them both, same thing. They both have a bit of fraying near the tip, but both were usable when I used the laptop, sometimes I had to adjust the position of the cord a little bit. I don't want to buy a new power cord I otherwise won't use (my current laptop is a dell), especially if the cord is not the issue.
Any ideas why the power is not getting through to charge the battery?
