this is probably obvious to everyone but, when i first got my laptop i was able to run programs such as google chrome and minecraft in a split second but, now it takes about 2-4 seconds to open them up. could this be fixed by de-fragmenting my hard drive? it's just worrying me because i feel like my computer is starting to get slow. when you pay your hard earned money on things it kinda sucks to see it slow down.

What operating system are you running? Go ahead and defrag it, unless you're running an SSD, then don't. You can open a command prompt window with admin privileges (in Windows 7 by right-clicking on the cmd.exe icon and selecting "Run as Admin"). "Defrag c: /x /u /v"

Also install and run ccleaner.exe to clean out all the temporary and junk files on your system.
