Reasons for no display from the computer?

Well I just recently ordered some new parts for my computer that I built after it literally stopped working completely. It wasn't the moniter, as it still had images appear on the moniter but when connected to the computer, it went to and stayed as a black screen.

After it stopped working I asked here and, while I couldn't figure out exactly what was wrong, guessed that something happened to my mobo as a result of a very weak PSU. I was afraid that it damaged my CPU, but I was still fairly sure that it was the mobo.

So I got both a new mobo and psu afterwards (mobo: ASRock Z75 Pro3 & PSU: Corsair CX600m), as well as a new case.

So I've got everything screwed in and wired properly (I think, anyway. The fans all work including the cpu stock fan), but just as before when I plug in the comp and turn it on, everything seems to power up but no display appears on the moniter.

Is there any reason this would happen like this? Is it possible that the CPU is actually the part I needed to replace all along, or would a weak PSU not be able to damage the CPU? In which case, what could be the reason for it not displaying, since power is getting to the mobo and the display goes from blue text on the moniter to a blank black screen when it is plugged into the mobo (although this could be a result from the moniter knowing its plugged in maybe?)

Would a display come up if a CPU was broken at all? I was wondering if it would since the mobo has its own displays come up as well right (I saw the mobo screen come up first the last time I built the comp when I first booted it up)?

My CPU is an Intel i5 2500.

Any help would be appreciated, I feel as if I've thrown away money at this point thinking that it might actually be the CPU that was the problem all along, I've already sunk nearly $300 into buying a new mobo, high tower, and psu. Don't wanna buy a CPU only to find out that it ISN'T the problem and waste $500.

Please help :(

Oh wow, you were absolutely right! I just had the most "DEEERP" moment ever and plugged in the DVI cable into the mobo rather than plugging it into the GFX card :p.

Everything looks fine and works fine again now XD can't believe I was stupid enough to forget something like that...
