I need some opinions here. I am buying a more or less gaming computer. For the most part I want to play minecraft, league of legends, and more stuff like that. On best buy (I know it's cliche I've heard that 1000 times) I found this IBuyPower desktop for 520$ without tax and free shipping. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/iBUYPOWER+-+Desktop+-+8GB+Memory+-+500GB+Hard+Drive/6980021.p?id=1218818471270&skuId=6980021#tab=specifications

Tell me how the processor is and the graphics card and if I can use a HDTV as a monitor with hdmi connection. Also, how will it run minecraft? THANKS.

Solution
Gt610 will run League and Minecraft well. If you want your computer to last a little longer and play newer games though you would have to upgrade the GPU.

CPU is just fine... the GPU sucks.... you should look for something with GTS 640 or higher.... a 610 wont give you much of the gaming performer your looking for. I like how they call it a gamers PC when the GPU sucks.

the term gaming in general is a marketing term. its used to get people into buying it. Gaming doesnt have any real definition because there is no standard of gaming performance.

I thought the separation between regular desktops and gaming desktops was that regular ones don't have graphics cards but have intergrated graphics.

There isnt much separation between regular desktops and gaming pc's any more because lots of companys know that they can put a GPU in the computer but that doesnt make it a gaming PC. All they know is if they call it a gaming PC they will at least get someone that dont know anything about computers to buy it.....

If I told you that an APU based IGPU(heck even intels upper end igpu's) will easily beat this 610, would you believe me. Discrete card doesnt necessarily mean gamer. AMD markets APU's as budget gaming tools. Its just marketing term to say it can play games. Though there is no benchmark game nor benchmark settings that are standardized to fully classify "gaming". As long as it can be used for games, you can legally classify it gaming marketing wise.

I mean, I'm only really getting it because its much cheaper than a computer with an i7 processor and only less by .2 GHz

If you can find a AMD FX, AMD phenom ii, or Intel Core i5 Quad-Core with a mid ranged GPU I think you will be straight. An i7 is overkill and overpriced compared to an AMD system.
