Hey guys. I have a hp slimline model s5650z. I'm looking to upgrade to a radeon hd 6670 graphics card, which requires 300w on the psu. My current stock PSU is 220w. I have no idea what kind of power supply to look for (other than 300+ wattage, of course). That's why i'm here. Here's what is printed on the PSU:

MODEL: PC8046
HP P/N:504966-001

PSU REV:C

The PSU is approx. 7 in. long, 3 1/4 in. wide, and 2 1/2 inches deep. Any help is appreciated.

SeaSonic SS-300TFX Bronze 300W TFX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply - OEM

Quote from reviews below.

Works in HP Slimline

Pros: Fits in place of other TFX12V PSUs, a small form factor PSU that actually adheres to standards!
Plenty of connectors for SFF PCs.

Cons: Nothing so far.

Other Thoughts: Used to replace a failed model PC8046 powersupply(HP part number 504966-001) in an HP Slimline S5000. This Seasonic will easily replace the stock unit, with the added benefits of 80+ Bronze, Active PFC and all the other modern features the cheap HP part didn't have.

Hi - some sites recommend a 400w PSU for a sys with a 6670, however the important spec
is the +12v rail amps, which 17 are needed. The ss300 Blackbird linked has 21amps on the +12v rail
and will power your system, and is rationally priced.

If you feel you need more headroom, then Seasonic has the gold efficiency ss-350TGM
with 29amps on the +12v rail, but at almost double the price!
