New setup
Asus z87 Pro
16GB Gskill Ares 1600
samsung 840, 250G ssd.
Everything I read states this drive should be able to reach sequential reads of over 500 to 530MB/s with the Sam 840/250G
All drivers are newly updated, Firmware on SSD is reported as the latest available.
Drive is connected to SATA3 connection.
However, the magician software and CrystalDiskMark (1000mb 5pass)both report ~384MB/s sequential Read
Sequential write is normal at 240-250 in both programs.
magician software has been used to 'optimize for performance' but that has no effect.
No other ill effects are noticeable.
Update: After finding more threads on the forums with simular issues, I found the issue being Asus z87 pro motherboard has 6 Intel sata 6 ports, and 2 ASmedia ports, the asmedia ports in the manual are said to be for 'data drives only', needless to say, I had my drive connected into the ASmedia port.
