My PC uses about 350 watts on load, so a 420 watt psu works for me. A good brand PSU will serve your components well, a cheap one will fry 'em eventually.
Historically, my first PC came with a PSU that was cheap and it did kill components one at a time. Hence, I won't use a cheap/unreliable PSU ever again.
You'll want to make sure that you have some headroom and utilization of 80% of your PSU at a minimum.
