cant figure out what would be the best card for me to max all games and future games like bf4 etc, on 1280x1024 resolution. i dont want to buy a expensive card and waste all that power because my monitor aint big enough. does any1 know what would be the best card for best performance, money not really an issue

specs
evga 650ti 2gb ssc
8gb ripjaw ram
500gb caviar black hdd
corsair 430 watt bronze certificate power supply
intel i5 3470 oc to 3.60ghz
msi b75ma-p45 mobo

resolution doesnt mean a thing its not a reference point or anything it means jack

if your current card isnt cutting it then you do need a higher end card which means more power and money

why not just keep your current 650ti for now and save up some $$$ for a 760/770 later?

Sell your GTX 650ti for $90-100, buy a $130-150 1080p monitor, and use the money you set for the GPU to buy a GTX760 or Radeon HD7950 or whatever (depends on your budget)

Spending too much on a GPU for a 1280x1024 monitor is overkill. You're very likely to have excessive frame rates even on max settings in most games. The GTX 760 can max most new games at 1080p right now so it's not overkill for 1080p. Higher res also gives you more sharp images in games, gives you more view and working space as well.

intresting i will defo look in to that. might just do that then. but what if i keep my monitor what would be the best card and not overkill for 1280x1024. thanks

i really want new card for bf4 bf3 gta 5 crysis 3. 650 ti doesnt max all settings at 60fps think crysis 3 i get around 30 to 40 max settings

Crysis 3 is very demanding. Even at that res, probably only the GTX 670 or Radeon HD7970 could give you 60fps. You should tone down the settings a little bit. It's not worth it to get an expensive card just for that one game. For BF4 or GTA5, I'm not so sure but I don't think any of those 2 games are more demanding than Crysis 3.

ok thanks for your info m8 you have really helped me. al keep my card just now. i was thinking of buyin a gtx 660ti or a gtx 760 in the future. 760 looks good.

with a cheap video card even a 10 year old game could run in 1920x1080 at 60+ fps but it does NOT mean all games will run with those settings (eg new games), so as i said resolution means jack
