Which oil to use to de-noise a noisy case fan.

I have a noisy fan. After a quick google search and reading of some threads the response is to use Light Machine Oil.

Searching for just that in amazon turns up Sewing Machine Oil.

Also, I already have Air Tool Oil for my paintball gun.

Is it necessary to buy the sewing machine oil or will my air tool oil suffice?

Make sure it really is the fan making the noise. I slow mine down to keep the noise low. Any light oil should work; I just put a bit of teflon based oil that doesn't gum up in mine from a hardware store.
