Why does Crysis 3 keep exiting to Windows?

So I just built a gaming pc. I have: i5 3570k, HD 7950, and 16 gb of RAM. I have already played Civilization and Empire Total War on max settings with no problems. However, when I play Crysis 3, it runs beautifully for about 3 minutes before i get switched back to my desktop home screen. I can just click on the tab and jump right back into the game. It is almost like something is interrupting the game. I have Windows 7 in case that is relevant. I increased the settings a little over the preset suggested ones, but if that was the problem, wouldn't my game be sluggish instead of fluid? I have not overclocked any of my hardware. I just updated my motherboard BIOS to try to fix the problem but that did not work.

It sounds like something in windows is trying to "bring to front", so to speak. I would suggest looking in task manager while crysis is running and look for any suspicious processes, and do a malware scan. My friend recently had a very similar issue, and it was do to malware constantly attempting to run, and his antivirus constantly attempting to kill it. The antivirus trying to kill the malware was what caused fullscreen applications and games to minimize.
