I have a acer 5720 and wondering how do i turn on my mic. No, not my built in one, my built in one works but its really bad, i mean the ones on my headphones.

If there's more than one entry in the drop-down box under Control Panel>Sounds and Audio Devices>Voice tab, select the alternative. If there isn't, the BIOS may allow you to turn off the built-in microphone.
I've know laptop models where the speaker and mike jacks are handled by a MODEM controller so have a look in Device Manager to see if an updated driver might help.

In Voice playback i only see Realtek HD Audio Output and on Voice recording i only see Realtek HD Audio Input. If i try skyping someone, it still uses the built in mic. I already plug the headphone speakers into the green hole and the mic in the pink hole. Still doesn't work... Any suggestions?
