What's the difference between Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro?

this is my computer build

CPU: AMD FX-6350 3.9GHz 6-Core Processor ($139.99 @ Newegg)

Motherboard: Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($73.98 @ Newegg)

Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($59.99 @ Newegg)

Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($69.99 @ Newegg)

Video Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 3GB Video Card ($284.99 @ Newegg)

Case: XION XION Gaming Series XON-985-BK Black with BLUE LED Light Steel/ Plastic, Meshed Front Panel design. ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Power Supply: XFX 550W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($59.99 @ Newegg)

im using it for gaming. Does it matter if I get the pro version or not?

Not at all for the average user. Besides advanced network, administration and some boot options the main difference was/used to be memory limits.

With windows 7, needed the professional version if have more than 16Gb memory. Just Win8 edition has physical memory restrictions of up to 128GB compared to Win7 basic of only 8gb.

In your case for gaming, i wouldn't worry about it being pro.
