Hi all.

I have this motherboard and all works well with the onboard VGA.

Problem is when I install a AMD HD5670.

I select the BIOS to start PCI first but after this is just the normal VGA problem, one long beep and 3 short beeps.

Am I wrong in changing the VGA priority on the BIOS?

What is going wrong here? I can't disable the onboard VGA as I would if I could.

I had this HD 5670 working once but after a driver update from Microsoft the system rebooted and this was it. That's when the VGA problems started, the one long beep and three short beeps.

Any help well appreciated.

Regards,
Albert

I have seen that the options available are as follow;

GFX0-GPP-IGFX-PCI
GPP-GFX0-IGFX-PCI
PCI-GFX0-GPP-IGFX
IGFX-GFX0-GPP-PCI

They all work fine for the onboard card but as I have a pci-e I have selected 3rd option down, the PCI-GFX0-GPP-IGFX and once I do this, then 1 long beep and 3 short ones indicating VGA problems.

I have booted and installed OS W7 on this machine using the pci-e card and there was no problems but now If I even put the card on the slot then it's beeps errorr and no output.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers.

I have sense find out that the first option is I really need as GFX0 is the first PCI-e slot if it doesn't find anything in there then it moves to the onboard. Problem is it doesn't find any VGA there. All this after the OS update containning drivers for this card.

I think after trying the HD 5670 on my gaming rig and it did worked, rending the card funtional and after taking my old gaming Asus Knight GTS250 and testing it on this new motherboard and again, nothing came out of it, I can only assume a dead PCI-Express slot.

What would your thoughts be?

Same motherboard and everything else new. New memory, PSU, HDD, VGA and guess?

Still no output on the PCI-Express.

It's enough for me to say the slot is damaged some how. It powers the fan in the card but system does not recognizes it.

Any more ideas?
