I have a machine built around a asus P8z77-v LX motherboard.

I have had to replace the SSD that the system came with a normal HDD.

After booting from my windows installation disk and installing windows, the new replacement HDD does not appear as a boot option in the BIOS.

Currently I only have the option to boot from the (Sata port 2 blue) CD/DVD Drive, (sata port 3 blue) another fixed internal disk and a UEFI that appears to point to the CD/DVD drive.

How can I get the system to boot from my new fresh HDD (attached to sata 1 grey)?

Do I have the new HDD attached to the correct sata connector( should I have it attached to one of the blue connectors rather than the grey)?

Thank you for your quick reply.

There was an additional option I missed:
1. A list of boot devices (mix of HDDs and CD drives)
2. A priority list of CD/DVD drives
3. A priority list of HDDs

I had to change the priority of the HDDs to use the P0 disc as the boot device in order for the BIOS to display the new HDD in list 1.
