AMD 7850 2GB vs nVidia 650 Ti Boost

So, I'm looking at the AMD 7850 2GB and the nVidia 650 Ti Boost, both by MSI. I've done a comparison on gpuboss, and it seems to think the 7850 is better than the 650 (fair enough, about £25 between them). But techpowerup says the 650 is better.

What are your thoughts?

Thanks for any help :)

  1. According to Guru3d.com

    http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/msi_geforce_gtx_650_ti_boost_so_review,1.html

650ti boost consistently comes out on top.

    Techspot.com says the same.

    Then again by PCgamer.com

Long story short... Nvidia came out hard with new cards in better price brackets. Currently they are the way to go.
  2. Effectively a tie, depending on the games benchmarked. Don't rely on GPUboss, it's quite inaccurate.

  3. Anyway, that 7850 is in the US, so not a good option. Here's a better one.
  4. Okay, thanks - I've looked at videos and apparently physx isn't that important - true? I am doing stuff like Train Sim 2013 and possibly moving into BF3 etc.

And any more views; AMD 7870 or nVidia 650 Ti Boost (both 2GB)?
  5. Wait, 7870? That's faster than the 7850 and GTX 650 Ti Boost.
  6. Sorry, meant difference between 7850 and 650 Ti Boost!
