I have a D link DIR-655 router, firmware 1.33NA, Today when I was looking into the log of my router, I found something alarming.

Each second, there seems to be a device that is attempting to connect to my wireless network multiple times but fails. My log on my router is scrolling at a rate of about 40 entries per second, and they are all saying the same message:(xiaoyu being the SSID)

xiaoyu: Wireless system with MAC address 00200075FEB0 associated

xiaoyu: Wireless system with MAC address 00200075FEB0 disconnected for reason: Authentication Failed

the above two messages would repeat over and over. I tried turning wifi to invisible, it did not help. If i turn the wifi radio off, then it goes away.
As far as I can see from the status page of the devices that are connected, all of my device that needs to be connected is connected, and I'm not seeing any device on there that I do not recognize. I'm using WPA2 personal security.

Is this a sign of someone attempting to hack into my wifi? (apparently using a automated brutal method) Or could this be something else like an interference?

Help is appreciated

EDIT: And after I used a MAC filter, now the log changes to

Access denied to wireless system with MAC address 00200075FEB0
