Support for 3D monitor....

I am about to buy a Viewsonic 23" 1920*1080 FULL HD 3D-Ready LED Monitor (V3D231). What i need to know is hat will my PC be able to completely support it's functionality. Here are my system specs:
Core i7 3770K OC to 5.0GHz
4x4GB Gskill ripjaws X 1600Mhz
ASRock Z77 Pro4
Radeon HD 7970
Corsair force CS 60GB
Seagate barracuda 7200.11 2TB
PSU: ETon F-22 (700W)

Generally its not worth bothering with 3D on an AMD system, assuming you plan on gaming with it.

Yes, things are a but easier w/ nVidia and 3D .... Id recommend the Asus 144Hz model

I tried amd 3d gaming and it sucks donkey balls!!! ha .....I went to the green team nvidia and its awesome. Their support is far superior over amd hands down! My suggestion is swiitch graphics cards and get this monitor instead http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236206.......I love gaming in 3d even over my hi rez 1600p monitor

If AMD is going to give me really crappy graphics plese just say so. I am not looking for the ultimate quality. It shuold be above average though...

I agree, the Asus vg278h is the best of the bunch. One of the best 3D Vision monitors period.

The asus costs about twice as much. Even if I spend all that money, what would i get? (something tells me it won't be worth it)

The Asus is 27", the others are smaller. It is 120hz with Lightboost, giving you near 0 motion blur: http://www.blurbusters.com/zero-motion-blur/lightboost/

vs.

You also get 3D Vision 2 at 1080p using 60hz. That one with HDMI is limited to 720p or 24hz and the other gives you 1920x540 resolution (not an error) in 3D.

Worth it tenfold. It's worth it to invest in a proper 3D setup, if you get a cheap one all you will get is a dark display with alot of ghosting.

Also the VG278H will require an Nvidia card.

I've owned the asus vg278h for almost 2 years...Its by far the best display I owned and I even prefer it over my 2560x1600 monitor.....The smoothness and the 3D are very impressive. I bought additional glasses just to show my friends and family the 3D and they are all blown away and say way can't movie theaters have 3D like that...than I attempt to explain (to monkeys lol) 120 hz and how each eye gets full 60hz in 3d vs less which you see at movies in 3D. You do need nvidia cards with this monitor and preferably in sli...I use gtx 680's and everything is smooth...this is by far the best 3D you will get anywhere.

I personally have a 27" 3D Vision monitor and love it. I'd definitely trade it for that Asus 3D Vision 2 monitor if I could.
