Okay i have been thinking what i should do. I have a build that pretty old (2008 i think) and it has been good but now its time to upgrade but i dont have the budget to do it all so i need help to decide what would give me the best result.

Currently
EVGA 780i tri-Sli mobo
Core 2 Duo E6850
4 gig of DDR2 Ram
2x GTX 260 running SLI
2x 250gig HD running Raid 0
(recently purchased 1000w ocz Power supply)

So BACK in the day this setup was BEAST but right now it runs game at about medium in 1920x1080

So, I was thinking that if i get a new graphics card which will probably be a Radeon but then i thought maybe my setup will be bottle necked by the cpu/ram.

The question is should i go ahead and buy like a 7870 or 7950 and be happy for now or will that be a waste?

OR

Buy new MOBO/CPU/RAM and possibly that will give me a nice bump that i am looking for??

Honestly you would have to upgrade your entire build. You could get a new GPU but it would be bottlenecked pretty hard by your CPU. And if you bought a new CPU you would have to get new RAM/MOBO as well

a single 7870 would feel the restrictions of the rest of the system, how much are you looking to spend in one go?

With those specs.... I'd honestly just save up and upgrade it all. Pretty much anything you upgrade is going to bottleneck.
