i am really hesitant to buy an i5 3570k because it only has 4 cores and i dont know if that good for next gen gaming but on the other hand there is an fx 8350 which has 8 cores but i dont know im 13 so im on a budget

But you guys are forgetting that he wants be future proof, the i5 3570k's socket line is dead which means they are no longer releasing cpu's with that socket, the FX 8350 may not be as good as the 3570k AT THE MOMENT but it's socket is the AM3+ socket which AMD are still releasing cpu's out for and plus most games in the future WILL utilize an eight-core so I would stick with the 8350 because he wants to be FUTURE PROOF.

Grab the 8320, not the 8350. It has way more bang for buck, and can be overclocked to the same performance level of the 8350. The AM3 socket is still alive, and will be for the next few releases. These releases may have something special as well, who knows. Nice to see somebody interested in putting together a system at such a young age :D

You don't buy crap with the hope you can replace it with something good.

You are obviously too stupid to read so I won't even try.

You are saying but the crappier processor, with the hope that games will become better optimized for 8 core and the AM3+ platform will continue its use into that period. How theoretical can you get? Considering most games now struggle to use more than 2 cores, I don't think 8 will be used properly for years, also futureproofing is a ridiculous concept.

Wow this is a tech forum, not youtube. The whole point is too give a bunch of opinions, hopefully supported by facts, and let the original poster decide on what is best for his or her needs. In this case, I would recommend the 4670k, but only if the OP has the budget for it. If not, the FX series is a better bet, because of the promising future iterations of it, and how well it performs already. The best thing about AMD is that they do not change sockets often, thus making it a good option for low budget buyers. And they are no slouch, no matter how many people claim they are. It is just that the intel equivalent is often more powerful where it counts, in single thread performance. That being said, AMD often costs less, and overclocks a lot better, thus gaining back lost performance.
