Hello all, thanks for any replies. I'm building my first pc and just need some insight. I'd like for it to be haswell so I will have lga1150 sockets already in place, just in case. 8 gb ram, decent but not over the top gpu, monitor and OS included. About 1000 US dollar budget.

I don't get my check until Thursday. What do you mean by light tho? Will they do the job? Will psu damage any parts?

The ssd will be a near future upgrade. I just want to get good parts that will last me a while. The 660 I've heard runs almost anything at high settings plus overclocking is more of an experiment for me rather than anything.

its much harder to upgrade a hard drive system to a SSD than to add a hard drive to a SSD system.

yes, but the 7870xt plays just about everything on a ultra preset, benefits way more from overclocking and overclocks further, and it comes wtih 3 or 4 free games from what i remember

Ah cool ill have to check out the 7870xt. I didn't know it bundled with that many games. As for the ssd upgrade, why would it be harder to put on a hdd system?

to add a hard drive to a ssd system, all you have to do is plug it in, format it, and you are good to go.

to add a SSD to a hard drive system, you will need to reformat the hard drive, reinstall windows onto the SSD, reinstall all the drivers, and move all your apps to the SSD out of the hard drive
